The calendar is based on the book Mary's little donkey, by Gunhild Sehlin, (Floris Books, Edinburgh).
The book appeared in 1961 in Sweden and has been printed almost every year since then.
The pictures inside the windows follow the text of the book – you read a few pages every day.

The Shepherd Boy’s Flute Artistic design: Eli Hallgren

Through Dan Lindholm’s story and through the pictures inside the 24 doors we can follow the Shepherd Boy’s adventurous wandering to the new-born Child in Bethlehem. The story is enclosed with the calendar – you may read the story every Sunday in Advent and recognise the pictures when they appear or read a small part every day.
